We track government spending.
Not you.
No tracking pixels, no behavioral analytics
Your data stays yours — we don't sell, share, or monetize it
No dark patterns, no manipulative design
Unsubscribe actually means unsubscribe and cancel means cancel
Many software companies say "we value your privacy" right before installing 47 trackers on your browser. They bury the truth in 10,000-word policies written by lawyers for lawyers, then make the "accept all cookies" button bigger than the "decline" button.
That's not a privacy policy. That's a trap.
We think you deserve better — especially because of who you are.
Who Uses BlazingStar
Federal analysts. Congressional staff. Contractors. Journalists. Researchers. Government affairs professionals. Your work is sensitive. What you search for reveals what you care about. What you track reveals what you suspect. That kind of information — in the wrong hands — becomes leverage.
We refuse to be the wrong hands. We believe user data is a liability to minimize and a trust to safeguard, rather than an asset to hoard.
Our Commitments
No tracking pixels. No behavioral analytics. No session replay. No fingerprinting. We use Plausible Analytics on our marketing site — it's aggregate-only, cookieless, and can't identify you even if we wanted it to. See what we see on our Plausible dashboard.
No data sales. Not now, not ever, not "anonymized," not to "partners." We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers. Your information is not our product. Curated data about federal appropriations and the budget is.
No dark patterns. Unsubscribe means unsubscribe. Cancel means cancel. No guilt trips, no buried buttons, no "are you sure?" three times. We don't want you here because you forgot to leave.
No tracking inside the app. Zero third-party analytics scripts inside BlazingStar. We do server-side monitoring for performance and security — generic health metrics like CPU, latency, and error rates. We don't watch what you search for.
What We Actually Collect
Marketing site visitors: Nothing that identifies you. Plausible sees aggregate page views, referral sources, and country-level geography. No cookies, no IP logging.
Email signups: Your email address, plus whatever you choose to share (name, company, role). We do not currently track email opens or link clicks — we've disabled those features.
Trial users: A one-way cryptographic hash of your email to prevent trial abuse. We can't reverse it. It's a digital fingerprint that says "this email already had a trial" without knowing what the email is.
App users (coming soon): Account credentials and the data you generate by using the platform. That's it.
You Can Leave Anytime
Every email has a one-click unsubscribe. Every account has a visible cancel button. Want everything deleted? Email privacy@blazingstaranalytics.com and it's gone within 7 days — we'll confirm completion via email. No record. No trace. No exit interview.
We want you here because our tools make your job easier. The moment they don't, you should leave — and we should make that easy.
